This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made by Man with Van Brixton in respect of our financial year ending 31 December. It sets out the steps we are taking to identify, prevent, and address the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains.

Man with Van Brixton provides local removals, transportation, and associated services. Although we operate within a sector generally considered to be at lower risk of complex global supply chains, we recognise that modern slavery can occur in any industry and at any stage of service delivery. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships.

Our Zero-Tolerance Policy

We have a clear zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, child labour, and exploitation. This applies to our own operations, our staff, subcontractors, agency workers, and all third parties who provide goods or services to us.

No form of coercion, abuse of vulnerability, withholding of identity documents, or restriction of freedom of movement is tolerated. Any confirmed instance of such practices will result in immediate action, which may include termination of contracts, reporting to relevant authorities, and support for affected individuals where appropriate.

Responsibilities and Governance

Overall responsibility for our modern slavery response rests with the senior management of Man with Van Brixton. Managers are required to promote awareness of this Statement, ensure that staff understand our standards, and escalate any concerns or suspected risks.

All workers engaged by Man with Van Brixton, whether permanent, temporary, or subcontracted, are expected to comply with this Statement and any related internal policies. Compliance with our modern slavery requirements forms part of the conditions for working with us.

Supply Chain Standards and Supplier Audits

Our supply chain primarily consists of vehicle providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packaging providers, and labour subcontractors. We aim to work only with suppliers and partners who share our commitment to ethical labour practices.

We communicate our zero-tolerance stance to existing and prospective suppliers and expect them to demonstrate that they operate in accordance with all relevant labour and human rights legislation. Where appropriate, we may require written confirmation of compliance with anti-slavery laws and evidence of internal controls.

We conduct proportionate reviews and audits of higher-risk suppliers and subcontractors. These checks may include site visits where feasible, review of employment records and right-to-work documentation, questions regarding recruitment practices, and assessment of policies on wages, working hours, and freedom of association.

Where non-compliance or elevated risk is identified, we may request corrective action plans, conduct follow-up reviews, or discontinue the relationship if adequate improvements are not made within a reasonable timeframe.

Recruitment, Training, and Awareness

We use recruitment and onboarding processes designed to reduce the risk of modern slavery. This includes verifying the identity and right to work of individuals, clearly communicating terms and conditions of work, and ensuring that workers are not charged recruitment fees.

We promote awareness of modern slavery indicators so that staff and contractors can recognise signs of exploitation. Training and information are provided in an appropriate and proportionate manner for the size and nature of our business, with a focus on managers and those involved in procurement or supplier management.

Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing

Everyone working for or with Man with Van Brixton is encouraged to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery or human trafficking, whether in our own operations or in our supply chains. Concerns can be raised directly with management or through existing internal reporting channels.

We will handle all reports sensitively and, where possible, confidentially. No one will suffer any form of detrimental treatment for raising a concern in good faith, even if it is not ultimately substantiated. We are committed to investigating all credible reports promptly and taking appropriate action, including engaging with external agencies where necessary.

Continuous Improvement and Annual Review

We recognise that combating modern slavery is an ongoing process that requires regular review and improvement. Each year, Man with Van Brixton will review this Statement and our supporting practices to assess their effectiveness and identify opportunities to strengthen our approach.

The annual review will consider any reported incidents, feedback from workers and suppliers, changes in legislation or guidance, and developments within our sector. Where necessary, we will update our policies, revise our due diligence procedures, and enhance training or communication to reflect evolving best practice.

This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Brixton and will be updated and published annually.
